Services for Ex-Offenders

Jefferson County Workforce Center provides a variety services to ex-offenders, including job search assistance, resume help, free workshops, and more.

Career Center Resources

Jefferson County Workforce Center provides the following resources for ex-offenders at our main location:

• *The Blue Book provides a listing of positions in the metro Denver area that will hire
     ex-offenders on a case-by-case basis.

*Employment books and videos on variety job search-related topics, including:

               *Employment After Prison I & II (video) - Provides advice on handling questions                  about prison time and how to sell your self on resumes, applications
                 and in interviews.

               *The Federal Bonding Video - Provides information on how to get bonded to minimize
                 an employer's concerns about theft.

               *The Ex-Offender Job Hunting Guide: 10 steps to a New Life (book) - Provides                  important job search tips for ex-offenders.

*Resource packets are available in our Career Resource Center and include:

               *Information on how to deal with your background on an application
                 and in interviews.

               *Information on the Federal Bonding Program

               *A list of agencies providing services to ex-offenders, including housing, food and                  substance abuse programs

               *Information on the Work Opportunity Tax Credit for employers

               *Information on the Coors Brewing Golden Door Employment Opportunity Training                  Program

               *Information on apprenticeships and organizations/unions that offer                  apprenticeships

               *Information on how to access your record through the Colorado Bureau
                 of Investigation
