What is the Jefferson County Workforce Center?
How does it affect my job search?

Searching for a job can be challenging and stressful. Jefferson County Workforce Center can help you to dramatically improve your success in finding and keeping a job. Whether you are looking for your first job, trying to get a better job, or building a career, we can help.

We begin by understanding you. Our employment specialists will work with you to better understand your skills, interests, experience and aspirations. We will give you an edge by helping you to see yourself from an employer’s point of view. Using this input, we can help you put together a range of appropriate career options and pinpoint the job and companies that best capture your full marketability interests, and income potential.

If you need to improve your skills to get the job you want, we can help you develop an education or training action plan. Through workshops, apprenticeship opportunities, on the job training experiences, internships, job shadowing, and volunteer opportunities, we can help you achieve the skills to be more competitive.

Once we understand you, our specialists will help you implement a job search plan. We can critique your resume and cover letter and evaluate your interviewing skills through mock interviews. Attend free workshops that teach effective networking, interviewing, resume and cover letter writing, and much more. Access our extensive database of statewide job postings to find a position that matches with your skills, interests, and experience. We will routinely alert you by phone or email as new job opportunities that match with you arise. Special events are offered throughout the year by Jefferson County Workforce Center such as hiring events, job search seminars, recruitment opportunities, and employer presentations to help you meet face to face with employers.

Jefferson County Workforce Center’s services are universally available to all people regardless of race, sex, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability, or ex-offender status. All services are available to job seekers at no cost.
