for Acceptable Job Orders

All of the recruitment services offered by Jefferson County Workforce Center are free to both job seekers and employers. However, as a federally funded organization, the employment opportunities posted through this site must meet the following standards:

- A current and valid competitive job opening exists prior to any referrals being made.
- The opening is legal and allowable under the law or policies governing the Wagner-Peyser program.
- The employer guarantees minimum wage - $7.02 per hour ($4.00 per hour for tipped employees).
- Posting of commission-only and 1099 positions is prohibited.
- The employer maintains the required Worker’s Compensation coverage for all employees.
- The employer withholds all necessary taxes on behalf of the employee (not a 1099 Contractor position).
- The opening is not the result of an ongoing labor dispute or posted to replace striking workers.
Additionally, employers using these services agree not to:
- Discriminate in the hiring process
- Charge the job seeker a fee for application or placement
- Require an investment or solicit business opportunities (including independent contractors)
Jefferson County Workforce Center reserves the right to discontinue access to an employer violating any of these policies. Wagner-Peyser Act of 1998 and Title 20 CFR Chapter 5, part 652.
