WorkKeys: A Powerful Tool for Employers

As Governor Ritter pointed out in his State of the State address, education is the key to Colorado’s economic future. ACT’s WorkKeys assessment is a tool that helps employers ensure that prospective and current employees have the skills necessary to move businesses forward in the 21st century. February’s Hire Results for Business introduces this useful tool, outlines how Front Range workforce centers are collaborating on a pilot project for a Colorado Career Readiness Certificate based on WorkKeys, and shares some real world examples of how WorkKeys works for businesses both in Colorado and across the U. S.

What is a Career Readiness certificate?

WorkKeys assessments evaluate a person’s skill levels in areas deemed important to many jobs in the workplace today. ACT offers a National Career Readiness Certificate based on three of its most relevant assessments: Locating Information, Reading for Information, and Applied Mathematics. This national certificate is the basis for what will become known as the Colorado CareerReady Certificate. Four Front Range workforce centers – Adams County, Arapahoe/Douglas, Denver, and Jefferson Counties are collaborating to pilot this Colorado CareerReady Certificate program. read more >>
