Independence - it's what this nation was founded upon, and it's what most business owners strive for. But independence doesn't mean going it alone. There are many great local resources that can help you along the path towards independence.

Jefferson County Business Resource Center serves both start-ups and established businesses with confidential business assistance focused on development and growth. All services and information are free or are offered at a significantly reduced rate for any resident of or business within Jefferson County. Low-cost lunchtime workshops presented regularly and are open to the public. JCBRC is located at 1667 Cole Boulevard, Suite 400 in Golden.

The Small Business Development Network consists of 20 community-based SBDC service centers that provide free one-on-one counseling services in the areas of business research and marketing, new business feasibility analysis, business plan preparation, finance packaging and other small business topics. Local SBDC offices offer workshops and seminars for business owners and act as information clearing houses, with individual local offices specialize in international trade, government procurement, manufacturing, home-based business and technology resources.

Micro Business Development is a Colorado non-profit organization whose mission is to eliminate barriers to economic independence for community entrepreneurs, both youth and adults, through access to markets, resources and business capital.  Since its inception in 1993, MBD has assisted more than 8,000 entrepreneurs with training and loans, and has provided $6.2 million in business capital in the Denver metro area.
